Fighting Bulls / Reclining Nude
Fighting Bulls 20 x 26 / Reclining Nude 17x25 George Byron Browne attended the National Academy of Design. He was influenced by Cubism, Miro's fluid feel and by Abstract Expressionism. He became a leader of the American Avant Garde art movement in the 1930s along w Bolotowsky, Greene, Gorky, and de Kooning. These artists helped pave the way for New York in particular, to be seen as a center for art innovation after decades of France being the art center of the world.
