Paint by Numbers / History of Art diorama

    A visual History of Art from the Classical to Paint-by-numbers. An articulated artist’s model holds the pose as it paints by numbers a Picasso-esqe portrait of a Greco-Roman bust in a window over-looking a formal 18th century palace garden all housed in a Joseph Cornell-like box. (Note the block from a Wechsler IQ test). But you don’t have to know all that to enjoy this witty and visually pleasing sculptural painting.

 

    We wish we could tell you about the artist, but, so far, we have come up blank. It came from a Florida estate.
