Altered Pot Shino Glaze

    One of our favorite pieces. It doesn't leave our living room to travel to shows!

 

    It is maintained by many that Marie Woo was the first to introduce the idea of an altered pot, not Peter Voulkos who made his name in the art form. Woo is known for teaching, commentary on ceramics, development of distinctive glazes.

 

     As is typical, this piece is not marked. This vessel was purchased from Marie Woo (studying for her MA) by a Cranbrook Academy Ceramics teacher.
