Ceramic Framed in Wood Jaffe received her BFA at Indiana University in 1975 and her MFA at the University of Montana in 1978. She is currently a Professor of Ceramics at New Mexico State University. An article about her distinctive feminist sculpture, "The Cultivated Ceramics of Amanda Jaffe" appeared in Ceramics Technical. Her article "Mexican Color" appeared in Studio Potter Magazine in 2006, Her work has been shown at Francis Marion University, the "38th Annual Clay, Fiber, Paper, Glass, Metal, Wood Exhibition", the Ogle Gallery in Portland, OR, the Larchmont Public Library in New York, Scripps College (catalog), University of Dallas, the Torpedo Factory, the Target Gallery in Alexandria, the Plinth Gallery in Denver, and many others. She designed the Seatwall for Waldron Park in Corpus Christi, and a major installation in Staten Island Zoo, NY. A similar piece in a web gallery was $750.
