From a technical point of view, Helen West Heller's woodcuts and engravings are almost without equal in the 20th century. Her style is distinctive, often abstracted with varying perspectives interspersed with distinctive patterns. Her editions were very small, as she pulled them to order and numbering them as she did so. Her second hand cut bookWoodcuts USA (1947) enjoyed fairly wide distribution, in a limited edition signed hardbound edition and a folio of prints in a hand pulled cover. Although we have sold a number of her works over the years, we have many woodcuts, and other works by the artist, including Sugaring Off (painting and woodcut), Tending Cows (watercolor & tempura), additional prints: Mother Earth, Chicago Operating Room (lithograph), Landlady, Taurus, Morning & Evening, and two more highly collectible untitled miniatures (under 3x3") Shop Talk and Finger touching rose.

We also have the limited edition of Woodcuts USA signed by the artist, and the larger edition small folio of Woodcuts USA. We several individual pulls from Woodcuts that are 'signed' in pen, which were sold to us (and look like) as her signature but may not be. They are $15 each framed.
