We have several pieces by Karen Karnes. Here is a classic casserole that sold at auction for $1300 over a decade ago. It's currently on loan to Greenwich House.

Karen Karnes is one of the foremost ceramic artists living in the United States today who studied at Black Mountain and Alfred, and with Bernard Leach and Soji Hamada. The avant-garde artists, Robert Rauschenberg, Peter Voulkos, and John Cage were among the many creative minds at Black Mountain College during this period. She moved to Long Island in 1954. For twenty-five years, she focused on functional pottery. She taught at LIU-Southampton.
