This work is a unique early piece molded entirely by the hand of the founder of Evans Ceramics (now known as Evans Design Group) of Healdsburg, California, started by Tony Evans in 1960 in which they made raku ware (Japanese lead-glazed earthenware).

This work is vibrantly colored in washes of pinks, blues, and purples that seem to wash over the surface of the work creating interesting patterns over the vessel.
