Brother Bruno LaVerdiere

A painstakingly hand-made coil pieces like this took weeks to build and glaze and then had to wait for kiln time. A similar one in the permanent Everson Collection is extensively illustrated. Bruno LaVerdiere worked with Henry Takemoto in Lacey, WA after graduation from St. John's University in Minnesota. 
He has taught at Adirondack Community College, Skidmore College, Association dArt de La Napoule, Musee Henry Clews, La Napoule, France, New York University, Claremont Graduate Schools, and while he was studying at the Art Students League, he worked from1965-1967 at Greenwich House Pottery, NYC as an instructor of Ceramics. Feature articles about him have appeared in: Art in America, Ceramics Monthly, American Ceramics, Christian Science Monitor, Craft Horizons, New York Magazine, and New York Times Magazine. His work appears in Ceramics in the Pacific Northwest, American Ceramics, and Penland School of Crafts Book of Pottery, as well as others.
